Mythos, epiphany, identity, anguish, the lost and lovelorn, cryptic messages, hurts, triumphs, ecstatic joys: the stuff of great art, the reasons we tell stories. In Summer Reading at the Hosfelt Gallery in SOMA, visual artists halt these moments to be seen. Liberated, they examine these elemental forces of the human condition as a response to literature.
