Ordinary Things Exhibit At Studio 659 In this exhibit, the art reminds us that what is ordinary in one life might not be ordinary in another.  Some artists have re-imagined “ordinary” in extraordinary ways.  The exhibit is curated by Dawn Diamantopoulos, a graduate of Pratt Institute. The Figurative Art Exhibition Winning Artists Announced

The Figurative Art Exhibition Winning Artists Announced JUPITER, FLORIDA – June 1, 2012/ -- John R. Math, Director of the Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery recently announced that Leon Sarantos won an Honorable Mention Award in the Figurative Art Exhibition.  Leon’s winning entry was for his abstract, figurative painting, “Young Lady With Long Pipe.”  The exhibition is on view throughout June. Pop-up Art at Prak-sis Gallery - Find My Abstract Paintings at Inside Out Exhibit, May 18 to June 3

Pop-up ArtI am participating in my first exhibit at a Pop-up art space, Prak-sis Gallery in Chicago.  The Inside Out exhibit is curated by Chicago artist, Bill Moran.  I’m eager to experience this new type of venue first-hand.  Pop up galleries have become an international phenomenon.  Vacant commercial properties have become a common sight in the wake of the great recession.  As Time Out Chicago puts it:  “As the recession squelches demand for commercial properties, landlords from London to New York … have decided to turn their empty spaces over to art - temporarily - rather than let them lang... Best of Show Award For My Still Life With Mannequin Hand Painting at CornerStone Art Center & Gallery until May 30

Reclaim Art Benefit for the Howard Brown Health Center at Bridgeport Art Center

Art From Found Objects:  Reclaim, Recycle, TransformThe challenge for this benefit was to use objects from the Brown Elephant, a resale shop run by the Howard Brown Health Center in order to create art for the Reclaim Art Benefit.Howard Brown Health CenterThe Howard Brown Health Center is one of the nation’s largest lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender  (LGBT) health care organizations.  The health center has been at the forefront of treating AIDS and HIV, and has expanded to provide other forms of primary care as well.
