Statement

Through painting, sculpture and installation art, I explore the ways in which representations of bodies can explicitly or implicitly reflect on cultural and political issues in the spaces we occupy. I am particularly interested in formative moments--corporeal and cerebral--and how they are instrumental in creating individual and collective identities.

Currently, my work focuses on the intersection between resource management and identity. Specifically, I hope to examine the ways in which management of natural resources creates systems of domination in which certain communities are privileged and marginalized within a given space.
