Statement

Anna-Lou "Annie" Leibovitz is an American portrait photographer whose style is marked by a close collaboration between the photographer and the subject. Her portraits have been appearing on magazine covers for more than twenty-five years. In that time she has become one of the world’s most celebrated photographers. Beginning with her legendary work for Rolling Stone, and continuing through her long affiliation with Vanity Fair and Vogue, she has established herself as an astute observer of American popular culture.
