Statement

Sara Conde  received a BA in Studio Art from Hunter College, and is currently a MFA candidate at Lehman College. She was a participant in an intensive program at Escuela de Artes Aplicadas and in La Casa Encendida residency program in Madrid, Spain. Among other venues she has exhibited her work at the Bronx Museum, Bronx Blue Bedroom Project, Local Project, Boricua College, Galeria San Lucas (Madrid), and has had a solo show at Colalex gallery in New York City.

I create biomorphic abstract art in the disciplines of printmaking, drawing, painting and installation. In my current installation “Beautiful Chaos” I have created a drawing in the space with woodblock-printed ribbon. The walls have been covered with works on paper and canvas that combine drawing, painting, woodblock and silkscreen prints. I have combined different mediums such as color pencils, graphite, watercolors, inks, makers, and acrylics. Some of the works on paper are hanging from the ribbon to echo the printmaking studio.
