Statement

Greetings,

I am happy to be a part of this site.  I currently live in the rural Methow Valley and spend my time painting and farming.  I work primarily in acrylic, but have also worked in oils.  My work covers a variety of styles, whose common thread is the playful use of color.  Most of my work is inspried by nature, organic forms, light, fancy, and color.  I LOVE to paint.  It is a joy for me.  A blank canvas for me is an invitation for play and discovery  My work aims to invoke inspiration, upliftment, and wonder in the viewer.

Below is my resume:

Artist Statement:  Currently my work reflects experimenting with layering and color and composition to create an expression  of inner elevated states of being, whether those are wonder, joy, delight, contemplation, meditation.  Most of my work delves into forms found in nature.  I am directly inspired by my natural surroundings on a daily basis which informs my work.  My aim is to bring the viewer into wonder, elevation of heart, to leave them feeling refreshed and renewed.  I like to think that my work gives people a moment to feel reconnected to the wonder of life and lifted above the mundane.
