Statement

Najat El-Taji El-Khairy is of Palestinian origin, lived in the Middle East,  and studied oil painting, embroidery, stained glass, pottery, and silk painting before focusing on porcelain, studying under the Hungarian master Louis Eckert of the Herend Institute.

From her studio in Montreal, Najat creates unique porcelain panels with symbols of a highly evocative continuum of Palestinian culture, with special emphasis on Palestinian embroidery patterns.

Her latest exhibition for the Jerusalem Fund Gallery was Gaza Conversations in 2009.
