Statement

Inter-notional catalyst Franz Schnaas, operates out of SOMA in San Francisco. Schnaas' use of photography as a sketch/trigger for fine art-making originates from a childhood exposure, through visual experiments at his architect father's photo dark room, in his native México City.
After successfully –yet intermittently,  infiltrating the corporate world for a few years, in guises such as 'creative director,' 'art director,' even 'design director,' for advertising, branding, interactive, and industrial design, he now systematically references the collected 'consultancy' protocols in his fine art and conceptual photo-works.
