ARTIST STATEMENT

The main focus of this work is identity, and what it means to be human. Exploring aspects of personality, behavior, sociology, and the psyche; this work challenges preconceptions of beauty and humanity. This series of paintings probes below the superficial surface of people to expose the reality beneath. Utilizing mixed media, this work pulls together many different elements, materials and textures to portray this multi-faceted and complex subject matter, achieving a deeply human understanding.
