About the artist: Born in 1984, Keith Higgins currently lives in San Pedro, Los Angeles, California. His most current series comes from the inspiration of Tokyo. After spending a couple of weeks in Tokyo and taking thousands of photos, he cherry picked the best ones to use as reference. Right now the series consists of 10 paintings in the medium of oil on canvas. He also produced a series of Downtown Los Angeles in 2008. He eventually sold the entire series of about 20 paintings. He went on to produce more paintings on Commission of the Los Angeles area in 2012. He shifted his attention to Surf inspired art. He has surfed around the world and has produced paintings of El Salvador, Morocco, Costa Rica and Bali. He’s currently working on a series of paintings of Paris, Venice, and Rome. His goal is to continue to travel and paint. His influences include his grandfather who is an excellent oil painter, Robert Higgins, and his mother, Kelle Higgins, who is an excellent artist as well. She gave him his first set of paints when he was around 13 years old. Before that he filled sketchbooks up with drawings weekly.
