Statement

I am an artist living and working in Bangalore, Karnataka. I wanted to be an artist for as long as I can remember, on recalling my childhood I was always drawing and painting - it became the very fabric of my life. The freedom, guidance and encouragement received during my formative years set the foundations for my artistic career.

I am a self taught artist. I always derived great pleasure from sketching, painting and photography. Experimenting with various mediums, over the years I have produced numerous canvas designs. With experience my style has become bolder, more defined and recognisable. I aim to capture the essence of my emotions and creativity in simple yet strong forms and represent them in an unusual, amusing yet a beautiful way.

As well as applying paint with brushes, rags, hands, fingers and palette knives, I experiment with printing techniques, using clothes, along with copper, cardboard and other found materials.

While these printed details provide abstract patterns and structure, and an element of surprise and randomness, they also hint at references to experiences outside the painting.

I am constantly pushing myslef in new and exciting directions.
