Deric Carner was born in Arlington, Virginia and lives in Brooklyn, New York. He received an MFA at the Piet Zwart Institute, Rotterdam, 2005; MA from the University of Plymouth, UK, 2005, and a BFA from the University of California at Santa Cruz, 1998. Recent exhibitions include "Rear Window Treatment" at Louis B James, NYC, "Stay, just for a little while" at Romer Young Gallery, San Francisco. He has exhibited at EFA Project Space, Australian Centre for Contemporary Art, Centre Pompidou, Spazio A, Participant Inc., Gallery Aferro, Queen's Nails Projects, Southern Exposure, Artist’s Space and CAC Vilnius. He is the recipient of a MacDowell Fellowship, San Francisco Arts Commission Grant, an Artist’s Space Independent Project Grant, and an Irwin Scholarship.
