Wu, Chi-Tsung was born in Taipei, Taiwan (1981), and currently lives and works in Taipei, Taiwan. Wu received his Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Taipei National University of the Arts in 2004. His work, in which he devotes great attention to the methods used in producing and interpreting images, spans across different media, including photography, video, installation art, painting and set design. He received the top prize of the Taipei Arts Award (2003), short-listed for the “Artes Mundi” (2006), received “WRO Media Art Biannual – Award of Critics and Editors of Art Magazines” (2013), and short-listed for the “Prudential Eye Awards” (2015).

Also his works have been included in group exhibitions, such as “The elegance of silence”, Mori Art Museum, Tokyo (2005), “Hyper Design-6th Shanghai Biennale”, Shanghai Art Museum, China (2006), “Our Future- The Guy and Myrian Ullens Foundation Collection”, UCCA Beijing, China (2008) , “Paisajes 2013-1969” (Panorama. Landscapes 2013-1969), Museo del Palacio de Bellas Artes, Mexico City, Mexico (2013), and “Phantom of Civilization”, Casion Luxembourg, Luxembourg (2015).
He was the grantee to New York of the Asian Cultural Council in 2013, and participated the residency programs of Site Gallery, Sheffield (2006), Artists at Glenfiddich, Scotland (2006), CFCCA, Manchester, UK (2012), and in Toulouse, France (2012). In addition, he also collaborated with brands, such as Dior (2013) and Rolls-Royce (2014).
From 2012, he started to work with dance and theater companies for set design including “Off the map” by YiLab (SU Wen-chi), Dancing in Autumn 2012 Taiwan National Theatre, Taipei (2012), Kunstenfestivaldesarts, Brussels, Belgium, Kalamata Dance Festival, Kalamata Greece, La Bâtie—Festival de Genève, Swissland and Asian Arts Theatre Opening Festival, Gwangju, Korea(2015); “Absente: rendez-vous avec Sophie Calle” by Shakespeare’s Wild Sisters Group, The Performing Arts Center of Taipei National University of the Arts, Taipei and Avignon Off, France (2013), “Small end” by WC Dance Company , Experimental Theater of Taiwan National Theater, Taipei (2013), “Shapde 5.5” solo dance by LIU Shou-you, Guling Street Avant-garde Theatre, Taipei (2014), “I’m still here” by Ku & Dancers, Experimental Theater of Taiwan National Theater, Taipei (2014), and “Aerodynamics” by WC Dance Company, XXVI Festival de Artes de Macau, Macau and Taiwan National Theater, Taipei (2015). He was also invited to “World Stage Design 2013”, Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, Cardiff, UK (2013) for the set design work of “Off the map.”
