Artists Statement

As a visual artist, most of my art is a content based aesthetic. My internal cultural perspective stems from the African-Caribbean experience, and has evolved to incorporate a vantage point that acknowledges, the ancestral place of knowledge. This is the cosmic axis, the poteau mitan, and the point of inspiration where self and spirit are one.

Additionally, I use the concept of Vévé, as a visual beckoning for peace and affinity with nature. This is represented in abstraction, as an association and connection with the essence of spirit. It is an attempt to capture something of the sublime between nature and culture, as well as the expressions of spirituality, which are abstractions of culture.
