Eugene Glass School
My name is Simone Kestelman. I am a Brazilian artist born in Rio de Janeiro and currently living in New York.
I am a sculptor and multi-media artist, working primarily in glass, ceramics, metal, and photography.
I have been devoting my artistic skills to raising awareness about situations in the world that are sometimes so very difficult to talk about even if in a common language.
These issues I represent in my art are not those restricted to a set of borders, or to a specific culture, but rather they are issues that transcend cultural and language barriers, therefore affecting groups worldwide.
I am inspired by the depths of our humanity - love, life, death, hate, sadness, ambition.
These are the feelings that lead people to be their best and worse selves, to imagine a better world for themselves and those they love.
The imagination and dreams are fundamental and essential elements in childhood.
Toys without imagination are like lifeless elements in the world of children.
