Statement

Olga Kol’s female nude dreamscapes are visible metaphors which celebrate the female form in lyrical reveries. Committed to creativity and individuality, Olga Kol’s masterful compositions, whisk the viewer away on a mystical journey into a sensuous, jubilant world where the foremost motif is the female silhouette. Lyrically colored undulating forms bring to life the artist’s love affair with paint as she abandons herself to the sensuous and sensual nature of her medium. Nude figures bathed in mood and mystery flow brilliantly as they metamorphose into glowing visions of feminine natural beauty. Combining the styles of abstraction and expressionism, Olga Kol’s semi- abstracted nudes come alive through her symphony of brushstrokes and saturated color. Addressing themes of female beauty, identity and desirability, her sublime imagery urges the viewer to embrace life’s rich experiences, compelling us to take notice of the pleasures and beauty that surrounds us. Inspired by everything that arouses an emotion, her sensuous amorphous shapes take on a life of their own, as the configurations of line, color and form unite to articulate universally felt sentiments. Weaving together these various threads, Olga Kol has given birth to an entirely new mode of expression and brings to life joyous figures. Melodic bursts of light offer an intoxicating sensorial perception to the viewer as fascinating female characters float through suspended time and space. Her poetic visual lexis offers optical feminine narratives which are infused with symbolism of timely issues which reverberate with a feminine odyssey of ideology. Exuding a learned sensitivity towards intimate themes, this gifted Australian artist gently acknowledges a delicate innate empathy to womanhood while she mystically radiates the spiritual harmony of woman in nature.
