Malisa Humphrey was born in Berkeley, California and currently lives and works in Los Angeles. Her work has exhibited and screened at Richard Telles Fine Art, the Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery, the Armory Center for the Arts, the Museum of Contemporary Art, San Diego, the Hammer Museum, the Museum of Contemporary Art, La Jolla, the Oakland Museum of California and the Banff Centre for the Arts. She received her MFA from the University of California, San Diego and her BA from the University of California, Berkeley. In 2017 she was a recipient of the California Community Foundation Fellowship for Visual Artists.
