Narda Alvarado is a researcher, nonconformist, aspiring poet, escapist and Formula 1 lover.
She uses artistic thinking as a tool to think about life, to relate to the world and to understand art itself. In this attempt to do philosophy with art, her search emerges from the cultural, artistic, existential, or even sentimental conflicts and interests that any context presents in her life.
Narda makes art because it allows her to interpret reality on her own terms or to escape from it if necessary. So, she can build an anarchic, romantic and contradictory world... an imperfect paradise where nothing is impossible.
The form and topics of her work emerge from the natural oscillation she experiments amongst fascination or curiosity (modes of exploration) and academic boredom or non-conformism (tools of renovation or change).
Since her practice comes about to confusion or crisis constantly, it has developed into a method of expansion and of arrangement of chaos, where the subjects she works with cover a vast range: art, poetry, culture, technology, sports, dreams, creativity, feminism, identity, productivity…
In her research, she resorts to artistic, architectural, scientific and philosophical methodologies, tools and knowledge. Narda uses different artistic mediums and media (drawing, video, animation, digital images, objects, performance, installation…) and forms of production (organization of events, publications, workshops, research projects: about video-art, video games, home-made videos, radio).
Narda is trying to become an artist that meddles in her context and expands her actions within society. She aims to build reality or refract it poetically, at least. She would like to make an art that fluctuates with the paths of her own life and to produce thinking consistent with the XXI century´s demands.
