Statement

Artistic Statement:

As both a visual artist and a performer I’ve come to realize that artistic expression is greatly akin to our basic desire to communicate; art and music serve as my “second language.” Through the arts I have the opportunity to share part of my aesthetic vision(s) with others and when I am very fortunate some of those others are contributors to the effort.

Art for me is often a solitary experience, I invest time and energy into working through whatever equation has presented itself to me as another opportunity to create something new and unique, something I can give back to the world

Bio:

San Pedro based multi media artist Doug Pearsall originally relocated to Southern California in 1986, not long after completing his degree at UC Santa Barbara. Though Doug integrates the digital realm into his process, he steadfastly maintains contact with his folk art roots, honed by travel and study in Mexico, East, West & South Africa. Currently Doug works on deepening his storytelling abilities, regardless of the chosen medium.
