Koki Tanaka (b. 1975) is a Japanese artist who lives and works in Los Angeles. He has shown widely: the Hammer Museum, Los Angeles (2012), Witte de With Center for Contemporary Art, Rotterdam (2011), Mori Art Museum, Tokyo (2008 and 2004) and the Asia Society, New York (2006); solo exhibitions include Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, San Francisco (2010), and Module, Palais de Tokyo, Paris (2007). Tanaka participated in the 4th Yokohama Triennial (2011), 7th Gwangju Biennial (2008) and 5th Taipei Biennial (2006). In 2013 he was selected to represent Japan in the 55th Venice Biennale, where he received a Special Mention.
