In repetition there is order and structure, but also endless variation. Lingering effects of childhood obsessions steer me towards performing visual rituals that both comfort and confront.
While much of my work serves as a personal record, it doesn’t function as a monument to those typically life changing moments, those we immortalize in photographs and scrapbooks. Rather, it asserts a day-to-day ordinariness. From several year’s worth of saved to-do lists, to a categorized catalog of everything I own, to a seemingly endless stream of numbers and marks and scraps of paper, I attempt to both slow down and record time.
