FAQ - Spam or Abuse in Emails or Comments
ArtSlant is an open, web 2.0 platform. We allow the general public to register and contribute content. ArtSlant has many checks in place to monitor content, oversee problems, and help our users.
It is up to all of us to keep the site clean and useful. Please report any abuse or spam immediately. Do not respond to sender.

Email Spam Received from ArtSlant Profile
On each ArtSlant Profile, we provide an Email this Artist feature for registered users. This feature is activated when you enter your email address into our basic add form while completing your Profile. The Profile owner's email address is never made public.
Unfortunately, some people take advantage of this and try to send spam. Always be cautious when receiving email from someone you don't know!
Report any suspected spam to ArtSlant immediately. Do not respond to suspected spam. Send the spam email to us and we will immediatley investigate! firstname.lastname@example.org
Email this Artist allows people to express an interest in buying, exhibiting, or seeing more of the artist's work. It also allows members from the ArtSlant community a chance to contact each other in a protected system.
To turn off this feature, enter your My Page via the MANAGE MY PROFILE box on the right. Under Accounts you will find the Permissions tab, where you can modify your privacy and permissions settings. If you select "no one" for the "Who can email you from your profile" question, the "email this Artist" function not appear to people looking at your Profile.
Annoyance or Abuse in Comments
The ArtSlant Comments feature allows artists, curators, art buyers, and art lovers to interact with each other, offer support or opinions, and make connections. As with our Email features, sometimes people try to take advantage of this to Spam people. Please immediately report any spam Comments. We block the User and remove the comments.
You can easily remove a given Comment on your profile by clicking on [remove] next to the title of the Comment.
To turn off or modify this feature, enter your My Page via the MANAGE MY PROFILE box on the right. Under Accounts you will find the Permissions tab, where you can modify your privacy and permissions settings. Here you can choose who can leave or see comments on your profile.
Annoyance or Abuse Problems
Please immediately report any annoyance or abuse problems. While ArtSlant cannot control the general public, we can remove users from the site if deemed appropriate. It is suggested that you not respond directly to anyone who is bothering you. Reach us at email@example.com.
