11.12 Gallery started in Vinzavod, a centre of contemporary art in Moscow and opened its Singapore branch in November 2012. It presents contemporary art in a medley of works that embody traditional Russian realism with current trends of avant-garde and post-modernism.
The gallery works with talented young artists recognized in their field for their unique styles and choice of technique when constructing their pieces. Its artists include Alexander Zhernokluev, Max Bashev and Aleksey Morosov, whom have had their works purchased by the Moscow Museum of Modern Art and the Russian State Museum in St. Petersburg. 11.12 Gallery hopes to showcase each individual artist's diverse portfolio to Asia for the first time and give Asian collectors a feel of Russian contemporary art.
The gallery is owned by Alexander Sharov and Elvira Sharova, who founded the Moscow gallery, then known as Art Kvartal in 2005. They have a passion for contemporary art and pioneered the emergence of Russian galleries beyond Russia.
11.12 Gallery also works with painters Alexey Alpatov, studio 30, Rinat Volgamsi, Vladimir Kolesnikov, Andrey Syahlov, Damir Muratov, Vova Marin and Vladimir Semensky. It also features sculptors like Olga Muravina and Sergey Sobolev.
