DESCRIPTION

The University of Kentucky Art Museum is a world-class art museum.

MISSION

The University of Kentucky Art Museum promotes the understanding and appreciation of art to enhance the quality of life for the people of Kentucky through collecting, exhibiting, preserving, and interpreting outstanding works of visual art from all cultures.

The museum maintains a growing permanent collection of nearly 4,000 European and American paintings, sculptures, prints, drawings, photographs, and decorative arts. There are also holdings in art of the Americas, Africa and Asia.
