RuArts Foundation And Gallery Of Contemporary Art Was Created To Encourage The Development Of Art By Young Artists In Russia, Focusing On Those Who Work With Video, Digital Photography, And Experimental Media. The Gallery Will Represent And Exhibit Both Russian, And Foreign Contemporary Painters And Sculptors, And Video Artists. It Will Publish Catalogues And Books, And Participate In International Art Fairs.
RuArts Foundation Is Currently Collecting Its Own Video Archive And Library Of Art Books And Magazines. In Its Collection, The Foundation Focuses On A Cross-Section Of Both Contemporary And Modern Art, Which In The Soviet Union Was Represented By The Painters Of The Sixties, Also Known As The Non-Conformists And The Second Russian Avant-Garde.
The Foundation Plans To Invite Prominent Art Historians To Speak On Issues Of Art And Culture, And To Organize Master Classes, Video And Slide Shows. RuArts Foundation Will Also Collaborate With Designers And Architects, And House Exhibitions Of Decorative Art And Design.
The Gallery Is Located In The Same Quarter Of The City As The Pushkin Fine Arts Museum And The Museum Of Private Collections — The Historic Ostozhenka District Of Old Moscow — Where RuArts Occupies A Renovated Mansion Of The Boyar Mouraviev Family, Built In The 16th Century. The Foundation Has At Its Disposal State Of The Art Display Area Of 800 Square Meters, On Four Floors.
