The founding of Andréhn-Schiptjenko in 1991 marked the start of a new generation of galleries in Scandi- navia, not only in terms of the artists exhibited but also in terms of its commitment to longterm representation and to operating on an international arena.
Having gradually moved to larger spaces the gallery has succesfully launched the careers of Scandinavian artists and also introduced internationally acclaimed artists to the Scandinavian audience. Having established itself as one of the leading galleries in Scandinavia and representing both emerging and mid-career contemporary artists, the gallery enjoys privileged relationships with museums and collectors.
The gallery is owned and directed by Ciléne Andréhn and Marina Schiptjenko and regularly participates in international art fairs such as ArtBasel, ArtBasel Miami Beach and The Armory Show.
