DESCRIPTION

The Visual Arts Center of New Jersey is proud to announce Brick City 07101; an art exhibition curated by Jeanne Brasile which introduces six of Newark’s freshest emerging visual artists, and demonstrates the vibrancy of Newark’s flourishing art scene as well as a diversity of ethnicities, media and inspiration. The exhibition seeks to illustrate the continuum of the artistic legacy fostered by artists working and living in Newark since the early 1900’s.  The exhibition will be on display at the Art Center July 31st through August 31st.

Participating artists are Gizem Bacaz, Kevin Darmanie, Sarah Grannet, Ivan Petrovsky, Wahala Temi, Polina Zaitseva.

Since its founding in 1933, the Visual Arts Center of New Jersey has evolved into a major regional art center with both a professionally recognized art school and a critically acclaimed exhibition program.  The Art Center endeavors to enrich knowledge, understanding, and appreciation of contemporary art and the variety of cultures and ideas it represents.
