DESCRIPTION

Baton Rouge Gallery's 2015 Group Exhibition Features 30 Artists, Open for Limited Time

When Baton Rouge Gallery - center for contemporary art (“BRG”) first opened its doors in 1966, it was to give professional contemporary artists in the Baton Rouge area a vehicle and venue to allow for them to connect with local audiences. In the years since, BRG has exhibited the work of thousands of artists working with paint, cameras, kilns, computers and beyond. Today, the gallery boasts over 55 artist members and is one of the longest standing artist cooperative galleries in America.

Every November BRG hosts an exhibition that is short on duration yet anything but short on artistic diversity. This year, the exhibition features the work of 30 BRG artist members and offers a look at artists who have been exhibiting at BRG from just a few months to over 40 years.

The exhibition will be open to the public, free of charge, November 17 – 25 during normal gallery hours (Tuesday – Sunday, noon to 6 p.m.). An opening reception will be held on Thursday, November 19 from 7 – 9 p.m.
