Arte Latino: Contemporary Latin American Artists

The opening Reception on Saturday March 9, from 7 – 10pm will be an international event with many artists in attendance.

In March, LuminArte welcomes a group of very talented contemporary Latin American artists, representing Colombia, Peru, Mexico, Venezuela, Uruguay, Cuba, Brazil, Argentina, Costa Rica and the USA.

In this very special showcase, Texas based artists such as Daniela Matchael, Lupita Murillo Tinnen, Mario A. Gallegos Jr., Patricia Rodriguez, Ines Beccar Varela, George Galindo, Bereniche Aguiar, Roberta Masciarelli and Augustine Cordero join with international artists including Alicia H. Torres, Anica Shpilberg, Francisco Ceron, Araceli Salcedo, Flavia D'Ascoli, Malena Peon, Anabel Peicher, Raquel Rub, Oswaldo Sandoval, Julio Bordas, Jaime Ferreyros, Paloma Bernaldo, Lina Linkimer and Lara Campiglia to express a wide range of perspectives and techniques while highlighting the cultural diversity of this widely influential community.

Two Brothers, Two Borders

The opening reception on Friday March 22, from 5 – 9 pm will be a chance for the public to welcome the Leyva Brothers during their first trip to the Dallas Metroplex.

In further celebration of Latino culture, LuminArte is proud to host Alejandro and Esteban Leyva, two Cuban brothers who share a passion for creativity. Living in Miami, Alejandro Leyva reflects the vibrancy of his Cuban roots while embracing the exuberance of the Miami arts and culture scene, while Esteban Leyva depicts the intensity of life in Havana, Cuba through his large scale abstract paintings. Having grown up in a highly creative family, both artists have exhibited their artworks worldwide and have developed uniquely refined artistic styles and perspectives.

Jamie Labar and her expert team of curators work to express a range of perspectives while developing a standard of talented creative expression. The gallery’s newly minted artist studios and workshop serve to promote local talent, to educate and to invite community participation in the arts.  LuminArte resides in the Dallas Design District and is a member of the Dallas Art Dealers Association (DADA).
