KENOSHA, Wis., — The H. F. Johnson Gallery of Art at Carthage College is excited to present its second exhibit of the 2012–2013 season. “Printy Fresh: Hot Off the Chicago Printmakers Collaborative Presses.”

The Chicago Printmakers Collaborative is the longest-running independent print shop in Chicago, providing artists and printmakers with a facility and community where they can pursue their work in etching, lithography, screen-printing, relief, letterpress, and the book arts. This exhibit, curated by CPC founder and director Deborah Maris Lader, showcases work by nine of the collaborative’s most prolific artists and printmakers.

Featured artists include Kim Laurel (collaged monotypes), Misha Goro (intaglio), Sanya Glisic (relief and silkscreen), Duffy O'Connor (mixed media intaglio), Megan Sterling (intaglio, silkscreen), Maria Sanchez (relief and letterpress), Hiroshi Ariyama (silkscreen), Alan Lerner (silkscreen), and Scott Westgard (etching, mezzotint and engraving).

The Chicago Printmakers Collaborative strives to keep alive the art of handmade print, offering shop access, classes, workshops, lectures and exhibitions. Members of the collaborative show their work nationally and internationally.

The show will be open to the public Nov. 27-Dec. 14, and Jan. 8-26. An opening reception will be held Thursday, December 6, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Many of the artists will be present at the opening
