The Minneapolis Institute of Arts and Minneapolis College of Art & Design invited current MCAD students to submit proposals to MCAD@MIA, a unique opportunity for MCAD students to create a site-specific art installation at the MIA.
We are pleased to announce the winning proposal in the MCAD@MIA program for 2012. After considering all of the proposals that were submitted, the panel chose an installation by MCAD students Luke Axelson and Josh Ritenour titled "transfiguration." The proposed work will use reflective material and geometric forms to provide a layered experience of space and light in the stairwell of the new Target wing.
The goal of this juried collaboration is to encourage art students to create new work that responds to the architecture, space, and/or diverse collections of the museum.
