This traveling exhibition is part of an ongoing initiative d esigned to document the African diaspora of the low country and Sea Islands along the eastern coastline of North Carolina\, South Carolina\, Georgia a nd Florida. Returning home to the rich soils of his native Georgetown\, Sou th Carolina\, writer and photographer Dave Herman sets out to examine "the young\, the old\, and the lives in between" of the unique Gullah/Geechee co astal culture. Herman relates his strong tie to his homeland\, family\, and ancestry through thought-provoking photographs\, video and writing.
