In Directions\, Christopher St. Leger chooses the city as the focus in his watercolors. He feels he can exp lore the subtle behaviors of watercolor within this theme. St. Lege r states\, “A city is the runway for the flight of ambition and th e descent into melancholy\, a long street pounded by hopes and frustration\ ; for transforming commonplace into mystery. Because the delicate spilling of watercolor on concrete isn't a gesture of expressionism — it's human vul nerability.”\n
St. Leger first began to paint his su
rrounding city\, when he felt the city and its language were foreign.
Christopher St. Leger received his BED from Miami University of Ohio in Oxford\, OH in 1995. In 2000\, he went to Budap est\, Hungary to attend Budapest Technical University. St. Leger has been in several group and solo exhibitions in London\, New York and Texas.LOCATION:Hooks-Epstein Galleries\,2631 Colquitt \nHouston\, TX 77098 SUMMARY:Directions\, Christopher St. Leger END:VEVENT BEGIN:VEVENT DTSTAMP:20170522T235306Z UID:260801 DTSTART:20130216T180000 DTEND:20130216T200000 LOCATION:Hooks-Epstein Galleries\,2631 Colquitt \nHouston\, TX 77098 SUMMARY:Directions\, Christopher St. Leger END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
