The "Draw, Drawing, Drawn" exhibition is a celebration of drawing and the continually evolving relationship between observation and invention. Primary, sophisticated, honest, revealing, and fundamental, drawing is a common language that people of all ages use to communicate. The Vita Art Center wishes to present an exhibit showing a contemporary cross section of what is happening now in drawing.
There is no theme but all art must be original and completed within the past 2 years of the entry deadline. Compelling drawings on any subject or approach will be considered, We encourage applicants from all fifty states.
SUBMISSION AND EXHIBITION AGREEMENT TERMS
$20.00 for the first entry, $5.00 for each additional. Maximum of 3 pieces per artist. Entry fees are non-refundable. Entry fee must be paid by U.S. check, U.S. International money order made payable to Vita Art Center, or by credit card via PayPal.
Best of Show: $1000.

The exhibit will be a part of Ventura's citywide signature event that brings over 30,000 visitors to Ventura annually.
Leah Ollman has been writing criticism and features about art for the Los Angeles Times since 1987, and has served as Corresponding Editor for Art in America since 1997. She has written essays for books on William Kentridge, Michal Chelbin, John Brill and others, and contributed to numerous exhibition catalogues. Her articles and reviews have also appeared in such publications as Sculpture, History of Photography, ARTnews, Art on Paper and American Craft. She earned her M.A. in Art History from the Institute of Fine Arts, New York University, and graduated from Scripps College with a joint degree in Art History and Philosophy. She is currently at work on a book exploring the intersection of poetry and photography.
Open to all artists at least 18 years of age.
Open to any and all traditional and non-traditional visual arts media applicable to the practice and discipline of drawing. Drawing media that is encouraged includes, but is not limited to, chalk, charcoal, ContÃ©, graphite, marker, metal-point, pastel, pen & ink, pencil, or other marking materials.
40% of the selling price will be retained by the Vita Art Center. All works must be available for sale.
Great care will be taken with all work, but artists are responsible for insuring their own pieces if they wish. The Vita Art Center will not be responsible for any loss or damage to work while on the premises or in transit to or from the gallery. Artists are advised to get their own insurance.
DELIVERY & RETURN
All work must be suitably framed, wired or otherwise ready for hanging. Shipped work must be packaged in a reusable container. A prepaid waybill for its return must be enclosed. Please make shipping arrangements through the U.S. Postal Service, DHL, FedEx, or UPS. COD returns are not acceptable. The gallery accepts no responsibility for work not retrieved on the pick-up date.
SUBMISSION OF IMAGES
Vita Art Center accepts only digital images/files for consideration. See specifications below. The Gallery will retain the submitted images of accepted artwork and reserves the right to use the images in gallery publicity. CD's of works not selected will only be returned if accompanied by a SASE.
Online entry form is required, online entry submission is highly preferred.
Digital Format: Digital images can be submitted on CD or by e-mail (send to:firstname.lastname@example.org). The email and online submission process is HIGHLY PREFERRED because it makes our process more efficient and saves postage and materials for the artists.

AGREEMENT TO PARTICIPATE
Submitting the entry form indicates that you agree with the conditions of entry and exhibit as outlined in this prospectus, that you are reserving spots in our jury, that you will send the entry fee, and that you agree to make your work available and will ship/deliver it to the gallery should it be selected for exhibit.
