Sabin Aell (b. 1969, Linz, Austria)
The main characteristic of my work is that I do not limit myself to any common material. I work with whatever media seems appropriate to express my idea. I enjoy the mystery of experimenting with unrelated components and fusing them together. I always look for the contrast and the challenge in exploring the breadth of the substances I am dealing with and the story I want to tell. My ideal state of being lies within the thrill I feel when I reach the place where loose molecules are floating around, waiting to be touched, connected, and forged into something else.
My art is a fervent play with concealed meaning and a language other than words. I feel like a player between the zones of the seen and the unseen. In the exhibit spaces I show, I prefer to create an environment which includes the walls, ceiling and floor as an extension of the work and energy I toy with. By painting the background, I am extending the body of work into installation.
