The San Francisco Art Institute encourages students to apply for the Post-Baccalaureate Certificate Program for Fall 2013 entry.
The Post-Bac program is a one-year, full-time course of study that gives artists the opportunity to strengthen creative work through studio practice and critical engagement. The program is ideally suited for artists looking to develop their body of work for admission to a graduate MFA program, and positions artists for future success by providing a rigorous yet supportive environment.
The studio is the heart of the Post-Bac program, and artists have access to individual and shared spaces in SFAI's Graduate Center, as well as to extensive facilities and resources at the historic Chestnut Street campus. Immersed in a tight-knit community of artists who are challenging the boundaries of contemporary art, Post-Bac students have the opportunity to experiment within a flexible framework, and the structure of the program can be personalized based on individual artistic and career goals. Post-Bac students have gone on to study and excel in the nation's most prestigious MFA programs, including SFAI, and to receive grants, fellowships, residencies, and other funded opportunities from institutions around the world.
SFAI is currently accepting applications for Fall 2013.
Priority deadline: April 1
Students may apply directly to the Post-Bac program in one of the following departments: Design and Technology, Film, New Genres, Painting, Photography, Printmaking, or Sculpture/Ceramics. Learn more about the application process.
