PIFO New Art Gallery
No.2 Jiuxianqiao Rd, Chaoyang District Beijing
PIFO Gallery was founded in April 2006. In March 2009, it moved to its new space in 789 Art Area. The new space has an exhibition area of 800 square meters, designed by Mr. Han Wenqiang, a young architect from the Architecture Department of China Central Academy of Fine Arts.
PIFO is dedicated to discovering and training new artists, including artists who have been neglected by the market and artists of the new generation. PIFO’s selection of artists is based on the quality of the work, and on our ongoing efforts to develop various mediums, including painting, video, and installation. Good judgment, good taste, individuality and building a long term market are the principles PIFO stands on. Starting from the basis of art and Chinese culture, it is PIFO’s dream to achieve an international reputation in the promotion of Chinese contemporary art.
PIFO New Art Gallery has nearly twenty outstanding resident artists including Liang Quan, Wang Chuan, Cao Hui, Xiong Yu, Fan Mingzheng, Kang Haitao, Huang Jia, Wu Di, Li Hongjun, Wu Haizhou, Zhang Xuerui and Jiang Huajun; and collaborates with excellent contemporary artists including Wei Jia, Song Kun, Hu Qinwu, Tan Jun and Yu Aijun. In addition, PIFO has a large collection of remarkable contemporary works. PIFO continuously strives to maintain the highest quality of exhibitions.
From the very beginning, PIFO has put a high premium on building exhibition brands and designing and publishing. The annual “A+A” Co- Exhibition is a platform for young artists to show their works and an important standard for collectors to discover excellent young artists. “Painting & Handwork” exhibits painting and non-painting works like installation, alternative materials and multimedia. It features avant-garde and experimentation. Now “A+A” and “Painting & Handwork” are PIFO New Art Gallery’s core exhibition brands, attracting considerable attention from within the field and out. Our unique catalogues and annual non-profit projects in cooperation with museums are also important components of PIFO’s exhibition brands.
PIFO’s main goals are to continue to support Chinese contemporary art, promote a young generation of artists, and encourage excellency in the field.
PIFO continues to develop and mature alongside the Chinese contemporary art field – To Be Together.
