Back in Time: Post-War to Post-Modern
New Gallery on Old Bailey proudly presents “Back in Time: Post-War to Post-Modern”. This exhibition features lithographs, serigraph, and paintings by multi-internationally acclaimed artists from the Post-War period, on view from February 8 to March 1, 2014.
Period after the Second World War had led to a new acceleration of the European and American art. The post-war period marked by the rise of Informalism in Europe; Abstract Expressionism and Pop Art in the United States. During these new waves of art movement in the mid-1900s, European and American artists exploited the traditional style and developed a new form of creation. Flourished with evolved new artistic techniques, works in this period offered an artistic vision free from traditional conventions and representations.
Travel back in time to see works by renowned artists, who played an indispensable role in the Golden Age of Art. Featured artists included Valerio Adami, Pierre Alechinsky, Gianni Bertini, Romero Britto, Sandro Chia, Robert Indiana, Linda Le Kinff, Sol Lewitt, Peter Max, Robert Motherwell, Mimmo Rotella and more.
