DESCRIPTION

Meaning “box in a suitcase,” Marcel Duchamp’s Boîte-en-valise is a collection of many of the artist’s best works, gathered and displayed as miniature reproductions. A champion of the Dadaist and Surrealist movements and arguably the most important artist of the 20th century, this will be the first time Duchamp’s work has ever been shown in China. In this very exciting exhibition, the Boîte-en-valise will be displayed alongside the work of Chinese artists, who were influenced by Duchamp without ever seeing his actual creations. This juxtaposition between a European master and local artists will create a unique opportunity to observe the evolution of the Chinese art world.

To be accompanied by an exhibition catalogue.
