Room 406 is a new concept venue and gallery for home furnishings. With a focus on the highest levels of American and international craft, Room 406 features Troscan and vintage furniture, small-batch textiles, rare artifacts, hand-thrown ceramics and contemporary art. With its ever- changing array of offerings, Room 406 works to support rural makers and preserve traditional ways of living.
Deirdre Jordan brings a keen creative eye to Room 406. Trained as an interior architect, Deirdre founded Troscan Design + Furnishings in 1999 with her husband Bob Robinson. In an effort to complement Troscan’s custom work, the couple launched Room 406. Deirdre hand selects each Room 406 artifact and partners with makers around the world to curate exclusive collections.
Room 406 is located in Chicago’s historic West Grand Design District in a renovated industrial building. The gallery welcomes visitors with its open kitchen, fireplace, bright skylights and a flowing layout. Room 406 reflects a place where home life and art intersect.
