Jan Brandt Gallery hosts rotating exhibits of emerging and established artists on a monthly basis. There are also studios of the gallery owner, Jan Brandt, as well as Daniel Marley,photographer, and Stephanie Lebak Adomaitis, painter, located in the back space of the gallery. The gallery is located in a former Coca-Cola bottling plant and boasts an Art Deco styled lobby. The gallery opened in June 2012 and has been the site for over forty exhibits by a multitude of artists. Besides invitational solo, two person, and invitational and juried group shows, the gallery also has hosted a popular invitational Halloween themed show, Spookeh, for three years.
The gallery's mission includes providing a venue for art display such as Marc-Making, an exhibit for the art making of developmentally disabled adults, Bloomington High School Senior Studio exhibit,Those Who Can, an exhibition of work by Art Educators, and a 50th anniversary Head Start children's art exhibit.
As the artist-owner of Jan Brandt Gallery, Jan strives to create a professional, friendly, non-intimidating place to experience artwork. Opening receptions are well-attended and include food and drink and oftentimes music and dance.
