DESCRIPTION

Bruton's series on "LILITH", "The Sumerian goddess", was started in 2005. The paintings in, The Monkey Gallery in Andersonville, are an exploration of "Lilith", and her journey through time, watching for her opportunity to seduce man.  "The Marriage Between Heaven and Hell" depicts Lilith as Adam's First Wife.

The Alpha Betha of Ben Sira (Pseudo-Ben Sira) states that Lilith was Adam's first wife before Eve. Lilith in the Hebrew Bible, Isaiah 34:14
