Chicago Artists Group Show & The Brush Project 2
The Brush Project is a charity auction where you get the chance to purchase a unique piece of artist memorabilia, one that isn’t usually available to collectors….the artist’s brush.
The brushes will be mounted and displayed in acrylic boxes at Rotofugi Gallery September 25th-October 11th and will be auctioned via eBay beginning Sunday, September 27th and concluding on Tuesday, October 6th.
The first Brush Project auction, held at DvA Gallery in 2007, donated $2,500 to Americans for the Arts. We hope to raise that much or more for our chosen charity for this second installment: Gigi’s Playhouse.
Almost 2 years ago, my son Jack was born with Down Syndrome. Though it’s been a challenge, he has been doing great! One great resource we’ve had is Gigi’s Playhouse. GiGi’s Playhouse is a not for profit Down syndrome awareness center. With multiple locations, they offer activities, resources, educational programs and support for individuals with Down syndrome, their families and the community. At GiGi’s Playhouse they celebrate the lives and showcase the talents and potential of individuals with Down syndrome. GiGi’s Playhouse is something different for everyone whether it’s a hug, a party, or an educational experience but most importantly GiGi’s Playhouse is a place to belong. The minute you walk in the door you can’t help but smile and by touched! ALL the proceeds raised from The Brush Project will go to purchasing art supplies to help enrich these young lives.
