DESCRIPTION

Eyeporium Gallery presents “Tandem Trouble: Works by Fletcher Hayes & Kim Laurel”.  This event showcases two award winning Chicago artists who are frequent collaborators. Fletcher Hayes pursues an ongoing investigation of the human figure through drawing and painting, plus delightful experiments with juxtaposed photographs.  Kim Laurel utilizes mixed media including printmaking, collage, drawing and painting in works that include abstract symbol studies and iconic animal forms.  A mischievously eclectic mix!  The exhibition is presented in affiliation with the smARTshow in Wicker Park.

This event is free and open to the public.

ABOUT FLETCHER HAYES:

Fletcher Hayes and is a widely shown visual artist based in Chicago.  Hayes holds a Master of Arts degree from the University of Alabama and an extensive post-graduate education in art that include the Art Institute of Chicago.  Saturatingly rich colors permeate both his paintings and photographs.

ABOUT KIM LAUREL:

Kim Laurel’s formal art training includes the Cleveland Institute of Art as well as Oberlin College.  She is a long time member of the Chicago Printmakers Collaborative.  Her work has been frequently shown at the Chicago Cultural Center.  Her haunting images often contain stitching that simultaneously unify and  isolate sections of the composition -  a dichotomy that has fascinated her throughout her artistic career.
