DESCRIPTION

Integrant Element Lab

Installation by Fletcher Hayes and Kim Laurel

Integration:
To make whole by joining a system of parts

Element:
An individually considered portion of a whole:
article, detail, item, particular, point.

The Lab:
Two individual artists contribute to an
experimental installation using individual
image/forms through a shared use of space.

Scale and function are used in building unique works
from diverse components to create an environmental dialog.
The unique voices of each artist simultaneous combine
and yet assert independence.

Components from preliminary stages of final works
are paired with finished works, temporal states
of finished works are tested through scale.

Fun Galore!

This exhibition, a collaboration between Chicago
artists Fletcher Hayes and Kim Laurel, is part of
the Finestra Art Space 2009 installation series,
"Integration = Form + Context + Concept".
