RAPID PULSE INTERNATIONAL PERFORMANCE ART FESTIVAL
RAPID PULSE presents a dynamic range of styles and forms of performance art. The festival embraces the local and the global simultaneously. We aim to invigorate Chicago by bringing to the city artists of exceptional calibre from around the world with dynamic programming, decidedly fearless and unique.
PERFORMANCE ART can happen anywhere and for any length of time. RAPID PULSE approaches performance from a visual art perspective. As a potter uses clay, a performance artist uses the body, object, and space to sculpt time-based works of art. At once beautiful or grotesque, meditative or thrilling, solemn or funny, performance art ranges from explorations of the mundane to embodiments of edginess, risk, or pain.
Spilling over to other venues in the neighborhood for two weeks THURSDAY through SUNDAY JUNE 04-07 and THURSDAY through SUNDAY 11-14, with different programming each day:
- Discourse with Artist Talks and Panels
- Video Series, as part of the evening program
- Performances in Defibrillator Gallery, Electrode Window Gallery and Off Site locations
