DESCRIPTION

The band WHY? creates unique songs with a biting wit by mixing folk, indie rock, and hip hop with abstract lyrical imagery. Brothers Yoni Wolf (singer) and Josiah Wolf, along with Doug McDiarmid use keyboards, toys, guitars, and samplers to create their music. Yoni dropped out of art school and Josiah played drums at their rabbi father’s worship services before studying music at the University of Cincinnati. Yoni moved to Oakland, California, and made three solo recordings under the name WHY? before Josiah and childhood friend McDiarmid joined him four years later to create the full band.

The evening opens with the inventive and introspective rapper Serengeti, the veteran Chicago musician who recently relocated to L.A.
