DESCRIPTION

MCA Pamela Alper Associate Curator Julie Rodrigues Widholm leads a gallery tour of the exhibition Seeing Is a Kind of Thinking: A Jim Nutt Companion, at the MCA through May 29, 2011. While Jim Nutt: Coming Into Character offers a focused look at Nutt's portrait busts of the last 20 years, this companion exhibition takes a broader approach, delving into the rich and varied visual and cultural universe that has informed Nutt's work and that of his peers. Based primarily on the MCA Collection, Seeing Is a Kind of Thinking includes work by more than 50 contemporary artists that resonates with aspects of Nutt's work. The MCA offers free exhibition tours on select Tuesdays that begin at the admission desk on the main floor.
