Elsewhere Living Museum and Experimental Residency Program
CALL FOR RESIDENCY APPLICATIONS
Elsewhere, a living museum set in a former thrift store in downtown Greensboro, NC, is accepting applications for 2014 residencies. Artists are invited to create using the museum's immense 58-year collection of cultural and material surplus for site-specific projects that interpret and contribute to Elsewhere's concepts, collections, and communities. Installation, sculpture, textile, sound, video, performance and kitchen artists, musicians, urban agriculturalists, homesteaders, curators, scholars, arts administrators, system-thinkers and game-makers crossing interdisciplinary boundaries are encouraged to apply.
Elsewhere's three-story museum offers an evolving environment of living installations, public studios, and materials that provides an experimental context for investigating material culture, re-thinking process and practice, and developing new collaborative approaches. Elsewhere is an active participant in the vitalization of its emerging downtown neighborhood, and an exceptional place for rethinking things in everyday and extraordinary life.
We welcome applications from individuals and collaborative teams working across media, fields, disciplines, and administrations. Goelsewhere.org/residencies for more information.
Applications are due by January 10, 2014
