Rough and Ready

    Ekblad (born 1980) is known for her rough pastiche of Americana and gangster culture, poetic reveries and post-pop irony. "Like William Legrand in Edgar Allen Poe`s The Gold Bug, Ekblad has been bitten by a bug that has led her onto a path of unexpected undertakings; a form of modern day piracy. Cathy Wilkes: The Sea of Galilee

    For her third show at Giti Nourbakhsch, the Irish artist and 2008 Turner prize nominee Cathy Wilkes is showing a new series of small paintings and an installation.
